The City of Wyoming is excited to announce a new IT Specialist position. This opening comes as we work to strengthen the Application Development and Support capabilities of the Information Technology Department.
The IT Department provides technology services and support to the full diversity of municipal operations, including Public Safety, Public Works, Utilities, Parks & Recreation, Community and Economic Development, Finance, and general government functions.
The IT Specialist, specializing in application support and development, will work with a team leader to learn and support the city's various enterprise and line-of-business applications. Common activities include troubleshooting and resolving end-user experience issues, testing and installing upgrades, and working directly with vendors to implement solutions. Other responsibilities of the position include maintenance and modification of custom applications to meet shifting needs, and assisting departments with process improvements related to document management and workflows.
Candidates with some or all the following experiences, skills and abilities are preferred:
- Database Administration
- Document Management
- Collaboration Tools
- Application Development
- Object Oriented Coding
- Cloud Computing
- Accounting foundations
- Agile Project Management
Qualified candidates must demonstrate leadership qualities, have good powers of observation, be able to work under pressure, have excellent customer service and verbal and written communication skills, be able to exercise independent judgment, and maintain a positive attitude in all circumstances.
