The City of Wyoming is excited to announce a new IT Specialist position. This opening comes as we work to strengthen the Service Desk capabilities of the Information Technology Department.
The IT Department provides technology services and support to the full diversity of municipal operations, including Public Safety, Public Works, Utilities, Parks & Recreation, Community and Economic Development, Finance, and general government functions.
The IT Specialist, specializing in IT Service Delivery, will work with a team leader to learn the city's systems and help users resolve their issues with computer hardware and software. Common activities include supporting users via phone and remote support tools, troubleshooting and resolving end-user experience issues, and working directly with other IT department staff and vendors to implement solutions. The IT Specialist may also perform user satisfaction follow-up.
Candidates with some or all the following experiences, skills and abilities are preferred:
• Advanced computer literacy
• Application Installation and Support
• Troubleshooting and Analytical abilities
• ITIL / ITSM Foundations
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Candidates with one or more certifications are preferred. Desirable certifications include:
- CompTia ITF+
- CompTia A+
- CompTia Network+
- CompTia Project+
- Microsoft 365 Modern Desktop Administrator
- Microsoft 365 Teams Support Engineer
- Microsoft 365 Fundamentals
- Microsoft Teams Administrator Associate
