The City of Wyoming is seeking a Housing Inspector to perform health, safety, and property maintenance, building construction, and zoning code inspections within the City. Duties include, but are not limited to, responding to public inquiries, processing field inspections, identifying code violations, preparing correspondence, reports, and completing other office work as necessaryThe ability to learn and efficiently utilize electronic field tablet technology is required. Qualified candidates must have good powers of observation, be able to work under pressure, have excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills, exercise independent judgment, and have the ability to maintain a positive attitude in all circumstances. The ability to traverse difficult terrain and work in inclement weather conditions is required.


Applicants must be registered or qualified for registration as an Act 54 construction inspector with State of Michigan. Bilingual skills helpful, but not required. Approximately 60% of the work performed will be related to code enforcement and 40% of the work performed will be related to electrical inspections.
